Welcome to the website for submissions of research proposals to a SA Health Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) or Research Governance Officer/s. This website contains the NHMRC's Human Research Ethics Application Form (HREA). The Online Forms website also contains the SA Health Site Specific Assessment (SSA) Forms.
Before a human research project may commence within the ACT or NSW or Qld or SA public health system or within Victoria, it must have undergone the following:
- Review and approval by an ethical review body, constituted in accordance with the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007), such as an HREC; and
- Site-specific assessment by each site at which the research is to be conducted.
A research project cannot commence at a site within NSW Health, Qld Health, SA Health, ACT Health, Victoria or Mater Research (Brisbane, Qld) until it has received ethical approval and the SSA has been authorised by the appropriate delegate.
